SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Sustainable develpment is the organizing principle for meeting human development goals while at the same time sustaining the ability of natural systems to provide the ability of natural systems to provide the natural resources and ecosystem service upon which the economy services upon which the economy and society depend. The desired result is a state of society where living conditions and resource use continue to meet human needs without undermining the integrity and stability of the natural system. Sustainable development can be classified as development that meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations.

The role of students in sustainable development first starts from their school through-

1) Switching off lights and fans when there is no one in classrooms while in schools.

2) Throught conserving Rainwater through Rainwater Harvesting methods in the school.

3) Through Natural Awareness campaigns about resources.

4) Usage of Eco friendly cups,plates and other Materials by the students in schools related programes.

5) Through the reduction in use of wood materials for chair,desk etc and including metals or other natural materials as a part of conserving forest and trees.

6) Students also uses school bus as their mode of trasportation which again reserves petrol and other petrolum products.

7) Through social campaigns in school and programes related awareness about natural resources and their conservation.

8) Usages of LED bulbs also reduce the use of electrical energy.

9) Students promoted programes such as plantation of trees on nature day also promote Afforestation.

10) Green campus mission activites which also helps the reduction of plastic usage in the school and environment by students will also help in the conservation and improvement of soil.

11) Reduced use of paper works and printed materials in the schools also helps the reduction of trees and reduces deforestation.

12) Reduce and Recycled materials and its usage by students in the schools also help in the sustainable development through stoping wastage of money and resources.
